September 10, 2007  Reauthorizing NCLB

The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) has been working to increase student achievement and accountability in our public schools. With NCLB up for reauthorization in Congress, BCSA continued to support the strengthening and renewal of the law’s fundamental principles.

On September 10, 2007, John J. Castellani, president of Business Roundtable, testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor on behalf of BCSA. He urged Congress to maintain the law’s accountability measures and to ensure that the nation meets the goal of all students being able to read and do math on grade level by 2014.
